Chapter 7: Mother

They took him.

I kept blinking away the blood and tears, eyes still glued to where he last stood before they dragged him away.

They took him.

I heard nothing but I knew someone was trying to comfort me. I knew my babies were crying but I could only hear the blood rushing in my ears. The quickening pace of my heartbeat. I heard nothing and felt nothing. I went numb.

They took him.

I sprung up to my weak legs, fighting off the gentle hands trying to stop me as I again stumbled down the driveway. I didn't care that I was barefoot, I didn't even know where I was even going to go, but my legs wouldn't stop. I made it to where the curb met pavement before I was pulled back by two sets of tiny hands. I froze but didn't look back, my teeth grinding against each other as I shook with anguish.

They took him.

“MOMMY PLEASE!”

My beautiful little boy cried out, tugging on my arm and my heartstrings in one go. I crumpled to the ground, my legs suddenly held no strength to carry me anymore. I looked up at my two little angels, they held me tightly and I did my best to hold onto them through the pain in my body.

They.. They really took him..?

My eyes rolled to the back of my head before I felt my body shut down. I felt my head nearing the concrete before I was overwhelmed by a feeling of nothingness.

They took him..
